Thursday, February 1, 2018   (0 Comments)
Dear SNA of Mass. Industry Member,

Thank you for your continued support of the School Nutrition Association of Massachusetts. Your insight and opinion are an important piece of our organization.

The Industry Council is currently accepting applications for one open seat on the council. If you're interested in participating, please read over the description below and click here to apply online.

Applications will be considered for nomination to the industry council from current SNA of Mass. industry members. We were fortunate to have had many good applications in the past and encourage former applicants to apply again. The deadline for applications is Friday, February 9th. All applicants will be notified by the end of March. Please hold the date of Monday, June 11 for your first in-person meeting with the council in Auburn, MA, should you be selected.

The Industry Council is comprised of seven seats with local representation from manufacturers, distributors, and manufacturer's representatives/brokers who are actively involved in K-12 school nutrition. Each member is nominated by the Industry Council then approved by the SNA Executive Committee to serve a three year term. The council works closely with the SNA of Mass. Exhibits Committee to ensure a healthy revenue stream for the association through exhibits, sponsorships and corporate membership. The council keeps the association up to date on child nutrition industry issues, opportunities, and acts as a liaison for our corporate members.

The industry council is a standing committee. The chairperson of the committee is a voting member of the SNA of Mass. Executive Board and a voting member of the House of Delegates.

The Industry Council shall:
  1. Serve as liaison with the association's industry members.
  2. Seek industry sponsorships within the patron program, as well as solicit and secure funds for specific projects and/or initiatives as necessary.
  3. Work closely with SNA Exhibits Committee to develop effective and profitable shows.
  4. Promote, solicit, and coordinate the fall conference as necessary.
  5. Work closely with Massachusetts SNA Executive Director on various initiatives including chapter meetings, conferences, exhibits, industry relations, contract negotiations, and other management issues as necessary.
